Parkinson's Research Needs You Now

As a friend of The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), you may know me as moderator of the Third Thursdays Webinar series and Partners in Parkinson’s events. But there’s another role that I’ve been proud to play: clinical trial volunteer.

Clinical trials are a necessary step in the process of identifying new treatments and moving them on to pharmacy shelves for patients like you and me. Sadly, a chronic shortage of volunteers for clinical trials has become a huge obstacle on our path to a cure for Parkinson’s. And the result is a dramatic slowdown in research progress – 85% of trials face delays and 30% never even get off the ground.

To find a way forward, we need to increase the roster of research volunteers now. People with Parkinson’s, family members and friends are all eligible to participate. And there’s an easy way to find the trials that need you: register for Fox Trial Finder to receive a custom list of trials in your area.

Join me and the nearly 40,000 other volunteers registered on Fox Trial Finder. Together, we can get to a cure.

With gratitude,

Dave Iverson
