Robert E. Burke received his BA from Dartmouth College, his MD from Cornell University Medical College and his neurology training from the Neurological Institute at Columbia University. His research focus is on basic neuroscience related to the cause and pathogenesis of movement disorders, particularly Parkinson's disease. Burke's clinical research includes work in dystonia and tardive dyskinesia, and has led to the first descriptions of the delayed-onset dystonias and tardive dystonia. His publications have appeared in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (USA), Journal of Neuroscience, Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience and other leading neuroscience journals.
