Joanne Martz joined the Foundation in January 2005, and brings more than 21 years of experience in senior financial, operations and management positions. Most recently she was the vice president and COO of EastWest Institute, an independent, not-for-profit, European-American institution working to help build fair, prosperous and peaceful civil societies in high-risk areas. Her responsibilities included finance, policies and procedures, development, communications and marketing, human resources, and several other duties. Prior to that, she worked as a regional sales director for Abitibi Consolidated Sales Corp. Before joining Abitibi, Ms. Martz spent 13 years as business development officer for Republic National Bank. She received a bachelor of arts degree with honors from Marymount College and an associates of arts degree with honors from IONA College.
