Karen Leies joined The Michael J. Fox Foundation in January 2006. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Leies served as Director of Development of Jazz at Lincoln Center, where she was responsible for strategies to achieve annual and capital contributed income goals, and for management of a 13-member fundraising team. Before assuming that position, she served as Director of the organization's $131 million new facility capital campaign, which was successfully completed in June 2005. Ms. Leies' career has also included positions at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater Foundation, New York City Ballet, Theatre for a New Audience and the National Endowment for the Arts. She received her bachelor of arts in theater arts management from Ithaca College.
