Jennifer was born and raised in Connecticut and graduated from Trinity College in 2001 with a BA in American Studies. While pursuing her masters degree in Education at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, she directed an urban-core after school program in Newport for children in grades K-5. Subsequently, she worked for the Westport, Connecticut, public school system at the elementary level before moving to Boston in 2005. After leaving the classroom and becoming an office manager on Newbury Street, she decided to pursue her real passion and moved to New York City to begin a career in philanthropy. Jennifer attained a Certificate in Fundraising and Philanthropy from New York University in Summer 2007.

In addition to her work with MJFF, she is a Board member of the Edwin Gould Academy in Harlem, a nonprofit organization that provides essential resources to homeless young adults in New York City.
