People with Parkinson’s need affordable and prompt access to medications. Approximately 90 percent of people with Parkinson’s receive health insurance coverage through Medicare, but Medicare Part D does not have an out-of-pocket spending cap on prescription medications. Implementing a Medicare Part D out-of-pocket cap and a way to make equal payments throughout the year into drug pricing legislation is an important way to ensure Medicare keeps its promise for patients to access and afford the medications they need.
Congress soon will be drafting broad health care legislation. Tell Congress to include provisions that implement an out-of-pocket cap for Medicare Part D, along with a way to spread payments across the calendar year. We need your voice!
