We need your help telling Congress there is a small fix they need to make to provide Medicare coverage for mental health appointments through telehealth.
When the COVID-related public health emergency ends, Medicare will no longer cover certain services through telehealth. This includes therapy and mental health services for patients who have not seen their providers in person in the six months before their appointments. We need this to change. Emotional and mental health are just as important as physical health. People with Parkinson’s should be able to access mental health services whenever and wherever they need to and have it covered by Medicare.
Ask your Representative and Senators to pass the Telemental Health Care Access Act of 2021 (H.R. 4058/S. 2061). This Act would remove the random and unnecessary in-person requirement for Medicare coverage.
