On Saturday, September 21st 2013 Delaware Pancakes for Parkinson’s will hold its 5th annual pancake breakfast at The Sanford School in Hockessin, Delaware. This year’s event will feature new sponsor Pillsbury and their pre-mixed, refrigerated pancake batter. This family-friendly event is hosted by a committee of passionate community members – including Debi Brooks, MJFF’s Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chairman – who share the Foundation’s commitment to speeding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Nearly a dozen griddle teams will take their turn flipping Pillsbury pancakes from 8 a.m. to noon to feed a hungry crowd. More than 1,000 people attended last year’s event, enjoying entertainment and activities over breakfast while raising over $80,000 on behalf of Team Fox. We expect this year’s to be even bigger! Since 2009, Delaware Pancakes for Parkinson’s has raised awareness and needed research dollars, contributing nearly $300,000 toward better treatments for Parkinson's disease.
Although Pillsbury’s new Pancake Batter is only available in the Midwest at the moment, the guests attending Delaware Pancakes for Parkinson’s will receive a sneak peak of the new ready to pour batter. “We're thrilled to be involved with such a great cause and doing what we can to help support the Michael J Fox Foundation mission," said Scott Dorman, marketing manager at General Mills, Inc. "This event is a great opportunity to join the Foundation in using pancakes for good."
