On September 21st and 22nd, Team Fox supporters Danville d’Elegance (DDE) will offer car enthusiasts a full weekend of activities in support of The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Located in Danville, CA, the annual event has earned national recognition as one of Team Fox’s “Top 3 Fundraisers” benefiting The Fox Foundation, and has contributed over $500,000 since 2010.
This year, DDE will include a Tour d’Elegance on Saturday that winds through the back roads of wine country, followed by a Dinner d’Elegance and live auction at the Blackhawk Car Museum. On Sunday, the town of Danville shuts down its streets for the Concours d’Elegance, a showcase of classic, sports performance and exotic automobiles and motorcycles. Led by Team Fox members Jim and Chris Edlund, all of the weekend’s events are planned, supported and run by a committee of dedicated volunteers, many of whom have been touched by Parkinson’s disease.
Danville d'Elegance also held two eBay auctions (now closed) leading up to the event this year. Their 2013 sponsor, Maserati of Walnut Creek offered the winning bidder an exclusive VIP experience for the Maserati Trofeo MC World Series weekend while while Michael J. Fox board member and former racer Sonny Whelen offered a VIP GrandAm experience for the Rolex GrandAm.
