These members of the Triple Crown Ladies Luncheon don't just enjoy a nice meal at the country club -- they also give their time to help Parkinson's disease research.
Michelle Komjathy, a research coordinator at the Movement Disorders Center at the University of Cincinnati, first met one of the Triple Crown Ladies when she was canvassing at her local Kroger supermarket to encourage participation in Parkinson's disease research.
One woman who visited the booth invited her to the Triple Crown Golf Club to share study-related info packages. Michelle learned that the ladies meet once a month and often work together on charity projects.
The next week, ten women attended Michelle's luncheon presentation and showed interest in learning more about volunteering for research.
"I got great results in signing persons of interest and a further lead to present at another targeted event," says Michelle.
At the end of the lunch, everyone proudly gathered around the Michael J. Fox poster pictured above. Thanks for the support, ladies!
