Fishing enthusiasts, take note. Team Fox member Nick Frasso (pictured above, far right) is hosting his 8th Annual Help Hook the Cure Striped Bass Derby on Saturday, August 25. Between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., fishermen will take their boats out to Boston Harbor and beyond to compete for a chance to win $1,000—the grand prize for hooking the largest striped bass. The current record was set last year for a 38-pounder stretching 48 inches long.
The competition is open to anyone with a boat and a fishing rod. Participants pay $25 to take to the sea and can fish just about anywhere on Massachusetts water as long as they are back at the Winthrop, MA, marina by 3 p.m. to weigh in.
After the weigh-in, winners are announced, prizes are awarded and a BBQ lunch is provided, complete with a deejay and raffle. There is something for everyone and all funds raised will benefit Team Fox!
