Michael J. Fox Talks Parkinson's Awareness Month with David Letterman

Last night, Michael J. Fox made his last visit to the Late Show with David Letterman. Michael joined a star-studded list of guests appearing in the show's final episodes and has shared the stage with David an astonishing 41 times.

Fitting that his final visit should be during Parkinson's Awareness Month, Michael talked about the Foundation's efforts to fund research as well as his own experience living with PD. He shared his initial reaction 22 years ago when his doctors diagnosed him with Parkinson's — having originally believed he had simply injured himself.

“Once you accept it, and you learn about it, you realize you're part of a community and you can make a difference — and you can get on with it,” Michael said.

The two also go on to talk about the Foundation's crucial work toward finding a biomarker for Parkinson’s and the need for clinical trial volunteers.

Watch the video above to hear more from Michael about how having the right attitude can make all the difference.
