Podcast: How Can Exercise Help Manage Parkinson’s?

“There’s really very little doubt about the capacity of exercise to relieve some of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease,” says Lisa Shulman, MD, movement disorder specialist and professor of neurology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. “Our data supports clear improvement in gait speed and endurance, with people being able to walk distances, even fairly long distances, in shorter periods of time.”

She discusses the impact of exercise on motor and non-motor symptoms in our latest podcast.

Dr. Shulman and other panelists joined moderator Dave Iverson for our January webinar to talk more about how exercise can help manage Parkinson’s symptoms and how physical activity may be affecting brain biology for the better.
