Podcast: How Genetics Has Transformed Parkinson’s Study

Over her career Tatiana Foroud, PhD, now director of the Hereditary Genomics Division at Indiana University, has seen the study of Parkinson’s genetics grow exponentially. In our latest podcast, she explains how this area of research can help develop new therapies.

“When you know something about a minority of individuals, being able to study it can give you an incredible understanding of the disease and potentially give you a hint at therapeutics that might help other people,” she says.

Dr. Foroud and Mark Cookson, PhD, senior investigator at the National Institute on Aging, discussed the genetics of Parkinson’s disease in our February Third Thursdays webinar.
