Dewey Searcy (picture here) is gearing up for his first ever Team Fox event at the Raintree Racquet Club in Richmond, VA, on Saturday, September 15. The all-day event is free and open to the public and will include a variety of activities, including round robin tennis, a silent auction, jewelry and art shows, and much more.

As a person with Parkinson’s, Dewey wanted to do something to help the cause. “I just felt as if I wanted to do something to help us move closer to a cure. I didn’t feel right not doing something,” he told us. “I would like to create an increased awareness and education [about Parkinson’s disease]. I think people think it is a manageable disease and not that big a deal, and even though medicine has come a long way it is a big deal.”

Dewey hopes to raise $10,000 through the auction, prize drawings and general donations. Activities start at 3 p.m. and run through the evening, ending with a dance party and live music by The Escorts Band. Dewey hopes that those in the area will attend the event and support the cause, as there is something for everyone! Or, those who cannot attend can make a donation to his Team Fox page.
