Thank You for Participating in the Million Dollar Month Challenge!

Thank You for Participating in the Million Dollar Month Challenge!

Wow. This community sure knows how to step up to the plate! Last month, we challenged the Team Fox community to help make April a million dollar month in honor of Parkinson's Awareness Month. Many of you started new fundraising campaigns, hosted events, ran in races or simply spread the word with your networks. Your combined efforts helped us raise over $820,390  for Parkinson's disease research - 100 percent of which will go directly to help to speed a cure.

Thank you for all you did in April and all you do throughout the year! The creativity and determination of this awe-inspiring Team Fox community cannot be matched. Here are just a few special highlights from this amazing month of fundraising:

Mom and Sons Birthday Challenge: Nicole, Ryan and Zack Jarvis made April fundraising a family affair. In lieu of gifts during their ninth birthday party, Ryan and Zack requested donations for MJFF that featured the number nine. Their challenge to friends and family raised over $1,049!

Nicole didn’t let her twin boys have all the fundraising fun! Nicole posted a $10 challenge on Facebook and included the Physician Moms Facebook Group (PMG), which consists of 55,000 women physicians from around the globe. Despite not knowing most of the PMG members, Nicole rallied the group to raise more than $15,402! We’re sure this fundraising energy will carry over as the Jarvis family hosts their annual Winter Gala in December.

Magic Puzzles for Parkinson’s: Throughout April, Magic Jigsaw Puzzles sold charitable digital puzzle packs via phone applications across mobile platforms on iOS, Amazon and Google Play. The Puzzle Packs featured the work of MJFF community artists living with Parkinson's including Rachel Francis, Carol Hagan, Sherrill & John Knight George Martz and Pat Younts. This unique fundraiser raised more than $29,000 for Team Fox!

Boston Young Voices: The Team Fox Young Professionals of Boston hosted “Young Voices of PD,” a free research roundtable. Moderated by MJFF Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chairman Deborah W. Brooks, the event featured a panel of experts discussing the latest advances in Parkinson’s disease. Hosted at MassBio in Cambridge, Massachusetts, more than 100 people were in attendance.

Team Fox Boston Marathoners: On April 18, more than 30,000 runners took to the streets of Boston for the Boston Marathon. Five Team Fox runners proudly wore their singlets for all 26.2 miles! Special thanks to Nancy Feeney, Rachel Pelletier, Myrdin Thompson, Christine Twining and Michael Westphal — your miles raised over $30,000 for research.
