Tao Wu, MD

 Dr. Wu received his MD degree in 1995 from Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China. He completed neurological and neuroscientific research training at the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, George-August-University, Goettingen, Germany, and the Human Motor Control Section, NINDS. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Neurobiology, Beijing Institute of Geriatrics, Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing. His research focuses on using functional neuroimaging methods, including functional MRI (fMRI) and positron emission tomography (PET), and other techniques of clinical neurophysiology to develop biomarkers for evaluation of disease progression and early diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, and to understand the physiology of normal human voluntary movement and the pathophysiology of different movement disorders, especially Parkinson’s disease.
