Location: Beer-Sheva Israel

Dr. Sarina Grinberg, a research professor at Ben-Gurion University in the area of organic chemistry, performs both basic and applied research. Dr. Grinberg’s main research thrust is further development of the V-SmartTM technology that she, together with Drs. Charles Linder and Eliahu Heldman, invented. Dr. Grinberg worked in cooperation with the chemical industry in Israel performing synthetic organic chemistry related to process research, organic synthesis of standards and metabolites of fungicides and insecticides, and new flotation reagents. For her work in organic chemical synthesis, she received the "Marsha and Tzvi Shariv Prize for Excellency" awarded by Makhteshim Ltd. and BGU. Concerns about the environment and the growing demand for green chemistry led to her research into the use of vegetable oils as renewable raw materials for new oleochemicals.
