Kenneth Vielsted Christensen, PhD

Kenneth Vielsted Christensen, PhD, has done central nervous system research since 1997; the last 12 years working at H. Lundbeck A/S. He trained in molecular biology and neuroscience at the University of Aarhus and later, as part of an industrial PhD program between Lundbeck and the University of Copenhagen, trained at University Hospital Copenhagen, Rigshospitalet. Dr. Christensen obtained a PhD in neuroscience at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, and since, he has been a full-time employee at Lundbeck focusing on molecular biological support to projects in early stages of drug discovery. He began at Lundbeck as a post-doctoral scientist, and became a research scientist in 2006 and a principal scientist in the Department of Molecular Biology in 2009. Since 2010 he has been with the Department for Neurodegeneration.

During his career with Lundbeck, Dr. Christensen has been project manager of drug discovery programs aimed at developing pre-clinical drug candidates for treatment within psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.
