Wei Wang, PhD, received his BS in chemistry in June 1988 from Nanjing Normal University, his MS in organic chemistry in July 1993 from Shanghai Institute of Material Medica, in China, and his PhD in organic chemistry in February 2000 at the North Carolina State University. He then spent about two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Arizona. Before he joined the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology at the University of New Mexico (UNM) at Albuquerque, he worked as principal investigator at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation.  He now is full professor of chemistry at the UNM.  His group research interest includes 1) new synthetic methodology development; 2) chemical biology/medicinal chemistry; and 3) molecular recognition and imaging and drug delivery. He has coauthored more than 160 papers, one book, 15 book chapters and five patents.
