Ram Mishra, PhD

Ram Mishra, PhD, has been working in the field of Parkinson’s disease for the last 25 years. He has over 250 publications (book chapters, peer-reviewed papers, abstracts) and holds two patents relevant to diagnosis and the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Mishra is the one of the three co-inventors of the CRP40 technology. He is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neuroscience at McMaster University and a member of the Board of Directors for CRP40 Inc.

Dr. Mishra’s laboratory focuses on the relationship between genetic, biochemical/molecular mechanisms and neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, drug-induced oxidative stress and Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, translational research towards development of biomarkers for the early diagnosis of schizophrenia and Parkinson’s diseases as well as novel allosteric drug development for treatment of mental illnesses are also conducted.

Dr. Mishra also serves as a chair of all graduate scholarship programs in the faculty of Health Sciences. Former graduate students from Dr. Mishra’s lab hold highly prestigious positions in industry, universities and government bodies such as CIHR and NRC.
