Swati Rane, PhD, is a biomedical engineer with more than 10 years of experience in the analysis of structural and functional MRI. She is currently a research instructor in Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt University. The primary focus of Dr. Rane’s work is the development and application of improved MRI approaches and analyses methods to increase diagnostic capabilities of central neurodegenerative diseases. She focuses on noninvasive neuroimaging to identify potential noninvasive biomarkers of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.  To that effect, she has applied perfusion, blood oxygen-level dependent (BOLD) functional methods and cortical thickness analyses to study Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
