Bruno Conti, PhD

Dr. Conti received a PhD from the University of Milan, Italy in 1991. From 1992 to 1994, Dr. Conti was a visiting scientist in the Department of Immunology at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Subsequently, he joined the Laboratory of Molecular Neurosciences at Cornell University, NY where he was appointed to Assistant Professor in 1999. A year later, Dr Conti moved to The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA where he is now professor in the Department of Chemical Physiology.
Dr. Conti investigates the interaction between the immune and central nervous systems, with an emphasis on neuroinflammation and its role in contributing to neurodegeneration. He is also recognized for his work in investigating the effects of temperature regulation on aging, and is a former senior scholar in aging at the Ellison Medical Foundation.
