Olga Corti, PhD

Research Director at Brain and Spine Institute (Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle épinière)

Location: Paris France

Olga Corti, PhD, is a biologist studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms of Parkinson's disease (PD). Her research is focused on the functional analysis of proteins linked to inherited PD and the consequences of their dysfunction at the cellular level. Dr. Corti obtained her BSc in biological sciences at the University of Milan (Università degli Studi di Milano) and received training in molecular biology in the laboratory of Stefano Di Donato at the Carlo Besta Neurological Institute in Milan, Italy. She then developed and evaluated strategies for dopamine replacement in pre-clinical models of Parkinson's as a doctoral student working toward her PhD in Paris (Jacques Mallet, CNRS & Université Pierre et Marie Curie). After joining the group of Alexis Brice at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, Paris, as a post-doctoral researcher to study the function of parkin -- a protein implicated in PD -- Dr. Corti was recruited by the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) as a senior investigator. She is currently research director at the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM), Paris.
