Neil Vasdev, PhD, is the inaugural Director of the Azrieli Centre for Neuro-Radiochemistry at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Canada, where he also serves as the Associate Director and Chief Radiochemist of the CAMH Research Imaging Centre. He is the endowed Azrieli Chair in Brain and Behaviour and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Radiochemistry and Nuclear Medicine, as well as a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. From 2011 through 2017, Dr. Vasdev was the Director of Radiochemistry at Massachusetts General Hospital and still maintains a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Vasdev is a recognized world expert in the radiochemistry discovery and development of novel PET radiopharmaceuticals with extensive experience in multistep reactions, basic chemistry and radiochemistry experiments and bench to bedside discovery of novel imaging probes that have led to the first human use of imaging agents. He received his doctorate in chemistry from McMaster University, and continued training with a postdoctoral fellowship at the E.O. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
