Dr. Renping Zhou received his PhD degree in Molecular Biology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989. He received a postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute, studying molecular signals for cell growth and differentiation. He was appointed Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy, Rutgers University in 1993, and promoted to Associate Professor in 1998. He's received a number of awards including the Johnson and Johnson Discovery Award and Trophix Pharmaceutical Research Award. His research has been supported by the National Institute of Health, National Science Foundation, and a number of private foundations including the Michael J. Fox Foundation. He has focused his research on the molecular mechanisms of neural circuit development and axon guidance and has published over 50 research papers in this and related areas.
