Tell the House: Support Parkinsonís Research Today
Members of Congress regularly circulate letters to their colleagues asking them to vote a certain way or support a specific program. These are called "Dear Colleague" letters. Currently, there are three "Dear Colleague" letters of importance to the Parkinson's community circulating in the House of Representatives.
Contact your representative today and ask them to add their signature to these letters. The deadline to sign on is at the end of March, so we have limited time to generate lots of support. The more signatures we get, the more likely it is that Congress will fund the programs and agencies that matter to us.
The three letters ask representatives to provide funding for:
- A national Parkinson's database to help researchers better understand the disease and who is living with it.
- The Parkinson's Research Program at the Department of Defense, which investigates Parkinson's risk factors associated with military service,
- The National Institutes of Health, which is the largest public funder of Parkinson's research.
We have a short time to act. Please ask your representative to sign the "Dear Colleague" letters today.
