Levodopa Response Trial Data Challenge 2017
In early 2017, The Michael J. Fox Foundation will cast an open call to specialists from areas of study that include computational biology and neuroscience, statistics, robotics, applied mathematics, and engineering, with the aim being to gather new insights into Parkinson's disease (PD) diagnosis and progression based on existing data from The Levodopa Response Trial.
The Levodopa Response Trial was designed to assess the feasibility of using wearable sensor data to estimate clinically relevant measures of the severity of PD symptoms. Thirty participants streamed accelerometer data using smartwatches and smartphones in both the lab and home environment, providing a high density data set for further analytical assessment.
The Foundation intends to share these data and host a data challenge to stimulate analysis to determine if wearable sensor data can be used as a biomarker or objective clinical outcome measure.
