Richard serves in many capacities in the Parkinson’s community, including as a member of the MJFF Patient Council, as one of The PD Movers, as a Parkinson Foundation Aware in Care Ambassador and Research Advocate.

Richard Huckabee is a husband, father, and a retired Executive Manager. He’s also an avid traveler, hiker, and amateur photographer. He was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease in February of 2013. He quickly became an active voice for people with Parkinson’s. Richard serves in many capacities in the Parkinson’s community, including as a member of the MJFF Patient Council, as one of The PD Movers, as a Parkinson Foundation Aware in Care Ambassador and Research Advocate. He has participated in several PD-related research studies, and he serves on a number of Parkinson’s-related committees alongside his wife, Angela. He has added exercise to his daily routine to stay healthy, and is a spokesperson for exercise with PD. Richard says he’s living well with his disease due his faith and his community of family, friends and doctors.  Richard continues to inspire People with Parkinson’s to “Get Better Every Day”! His daily Mantra is “Every Day I Fight”!

In 2024, Richard received the President's Volunteer Service Award from President Biden.
