Modeled after the successful National Alzheimer’s Project Act, signed into law in 2011, this legislation will create an advisory council tasked with creating and implementing a nationwide strategy to better diagnose, treat, and ultimately prevent and cure Parkinson's.

Now under consideration in the U.S. Senate, the bill passed with overwhelming, bipartisan support by the U.S. House of Representatives in December 2023. 

With groundbreaking progress made in Parkinson’s research this year — including the discovery of a biomarker and the first staging framework for the disease — there is no better time to focus our efforts on accelerating science to better treat, prevent and ultimately, cure this disease.
