Bonnie Miao Bandeen

Ms. Bandeen and her husband, Derek, co-founded the Parkinson’s Wellness Foundation. In 2026, they opened the Bandeen Center, New York City’s first dedicated space for people with Parkinson’s. The center offers physical training, educational and wellness lectures, support groups, and a welcoming community — all designed to empower people with Parkinson’s to live their fullest lives.

Ms. Bandeen is a former Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where she led proprietary and agency trading of global Asian equities, as well as Latin American and other emerging markets. She and Derek also served on the firm’s Management Committee for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Ms. Bandeen received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School. An active alumna, she served on the Executive Committee of Penn’s Board of Trustees, chaired its Development Committee, and served on the Wharton Board of Advisors. She has also served on the Board of Harvard’s Carr-Ryan Center for Human Rights and on various committees at the Guggenheim and Tate Museums.

Ms. Bandeen and her husband completed yearlong fellowships through Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiativein 2018 and 2022. Their experience there helped transform the Parkinson’s Wellness Foundation from an idea into a permanent community resource.

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Ms. Bandeen also speaks conversational Japanese and Italian. She and Derek raised their four children in London, where they lived for 30 years, and now reside primarily in the United States. They also produce Chianti Classico and olive oil in Tuscany.
