It was announced today that Michigan-based drug maker Perrigo Co. has agreed to buy Irish biotech Elan Corp. MJFF worked closely with Elan in the past on both Parkinson's disease (PD) drug development as well as research tools to broadly move the PD research field forward.
It is unclear the impact the acquisition will have on PD drug development, but we will keep you updated! The deal is expected to close by year-end so we hope to have a clearer picture by early 2014.
