What’s the Easiest Way to Support the Foundation?

What’s the Easiest Way to Support the Foundation?

For Dawn Goldwood, giving to The Michael J. Fox Foundation is as easy as paying her phone bill.  She’s a monthly donor in The Woodlands, TX, and doesn’t think the process could be any easier.

“I donate monthly because it’s a very affordable way to give,” says Dawn. “It’s automatic – you don’t even notice it.” It’s one less item on her to-do list to worry about, so the 59-year-old retiree can focus on enjoying her hobbies, like traveling and watching classic movies.

Dawn was drawn to the Foundation because of her love for Michael J. Fox; she doesn’t have a family connection to Parkinson’s disease.

“He is inspirational,” she says. “I have followed his career since he was on Family Ties and have always admired him.  I am hoping my donations will help find a cure for him and millions of others.”

Want to enjoy the ease of monthly giving, too? Join our Give & Get program. By enrolling, you're choosing an easy way to move research forward while providing a steady and reliable stream of support for the Foundation. You can also find other ways to give.

Besides monthly giving, Dawn also connects with the Foundation over social media. Her daughter invited her to sign up on Twitter, and she also has a Facebook account. As a retiree, she finds social media to be a great way to connect with friends and family while staying informed about the larger world.

“I learn something new every day,” she says. “I think that keeps my brain alert, which is important when you retire!  A co-worker I used to work with said your brain turns to mush when you retire. I am hoping to prove her wrong!”
