Anil Kumar, PhD

Anil Kumar, PhD is CEO and Chief Organic Chemist of Medchem Source LLC (formerly known as Advanced Pharmaceutical Research LLC) that he founded in 2004. Dr. Kumar obtained his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from University of Kerala, India in 1981; a M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from University of Kerala, India in 1983; and a PhD degree in Chemistry from University of Pune, India in 1989. Dr. Kumar was a postdoctoral fellow with Professor F.A. Davis, and Research Associate in the Department of Organic Chemistry from 1989-1992 in Chemistry at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. From 1992-2003 Dr. Kumar was a Senior Scientist I-IV at Cell Therapeutics Inc a biopharmaceutical Company located in Seattle, WA. He contributed significantly to the various aspects of drug discovery research from early development to pre-clinical stage in anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory programs that resulted in the advancement of three drugs into clinical trials. He has authored numerous publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journal and meetings, and is an inventor on over 24 US patents, and 4 pending US patent applications. His research interests include Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Product Synthesis, Stereo Specific Synthesis and Heterocyclic Chemistry.
