Judith Potashkin, PhD

Judith Potashkin, PhD, is a professor of cellular and molecular pharmacology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Dr. Potashkin trained at Roswell Park Memorial Institute and received her PhD from State University of New York, Buffalo. She also trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York. After completing her postdoctoral training, Dr. Potashkin became a faculty member at the Chicago Medical School.

Dr. Potashkin’s research on identification of Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian disorders biomarkers has been supported by the Department of Defense and the CurePSP Foundation. She has also received support from the National Institute of Drug Addiction, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and the American Cancer Society for her studies on pre-mRNA splicing. Dr. Potashkin was the recipient of an American Cancer Society Junior Faculty Research, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Xi Research and EMBO Awards.
