Philipp J. Kahle, PhD

Dr. Kahle was appointed to the medical faculty of the University of Tübingen as associate professor with tenure in the Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases, Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research in 2006. Since 2010, the Institute is also a German Center of Neurodegenerative Diseases. Dr. Kahle received his diploma in biochemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, Switzerland between 1984-1989 and his PhD at the University of Base, Switzerlan, between 1990-1994. From 1994 to 1998 he was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Neurobiology with Professor Eric Shooter at Stanford University School of Medicine. He then took position first as a postdoc with Prof. Christian Haass at the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim ,Germany, and moved along as Parkinson’s disease group leader to the Ludwig Maximilian’s University of Munich, Germany, through higher university training (lecturer, senior lecturer).
