Rosie Watson is clinician researcher in geriatric medicine and laboratory head at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, where she leads an interdisciplinary research program. She has clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of dementia, as well as the management of complex comorbidity in older adults. Her research interests include improving the diagnosis and care for people with cognitive impairment and dementia, particularly Lewy body dementia (dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s disease dementia). Watson leads the first Australian longitudinal clinical and biomarker study in Lewy body dementia, and she is the Australian lead of a new international phase 3 trial of memantine and cholinesterase inhibitors for the treatment of Lewy Body dementia (COBALT) funded by an NHMRC-NIHR collaborative research grant. She supervises trainees in geriatric medicine and PhD students.
