Sangram Nag, PhD

Sangram Nag has focused his scientific research activities on developing radioligands for PET imaging and applying these tracers in translational imaging studies from animal to clinical use. He received a PhD in medical science from the Karolinska Institute in 2013 and began working there as head of production (radiopharmaceuticals) at the PET Center. Since 2015, Dr. Nag has acted as the head of radiochemistry research and development and supervised PhD students. Since then, he has been responsible for PET radiochemistry and radioligand development with support for pure academic projects but also for drug discovery in collaboration with industry together with Prof. Christer Halldin. During these years, his primary focus has been in developing imaging biomarkers for disorders such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases and producing tracers for measuring neurotransmitter release using PET. He is the author or coauthor of 46 scientific papers.
