Wolfgang Singer, PhD, is a board-certified neurologist and professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinc in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his medical degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, before completing residency and fellowship training at Mayo. He joined the neurology staff at Mayo in 2009, and has dedicated his career to neurodegenerative disorders affecting the autonomic nervous system with focus on the synucleinopathies and their pre-clinical stages. His research includes clinical, laboratory, and imaging biomarker development as well as novel therapeutic approaches to the synucleinopathies. He has received prestigious awards including the international Dr. Karl Golser Award. Dr. Singer is the immediate past president of the American Autonomic Society, has served as chair of the autonomic section of the American Academy of Neurology, and is leading the MSA study group of the Movement Disorder Society. He serves as associate editor of Clinical Autonomic Research and editorial board member for Autonomic Neuroscience.
