MJFF is searching for an Information Technology (IT) Specialist to proactively partner with departments and business units across the Foundation to provide high-quality technology support and training. Reporting to the Director of IT, the Relationship Manager will play a key role in identifying the needs of departments and users in MJFF’s programmatic, development/fundraising, and administration units, then developing and implementing technology solutions for those needs. The Relationship Manager must be a knowledgeable and enthusiastic advocate of the role technology can play in improving efficiencies and advancing MJFF’s mission. This is a highly visible position that will include ongoing interactions with all levels of MJFF staff.
This is a full-time position located at MJFF’s main office in New York City with little or no travel required. This position will occasionally require off-hours work for emergency support requests or planned system upgrades.
- Anticipate needs from business units across MJFF (e.g. Research Programs, Research Partnerships, Marketing, Fundraising, etc.), and identify and propose IT products and services to fulfill those needs
- Become knowledgable about core MJFF business processes and advise business leaders on the costs and benefits of technology-based solutions that could address those needs
- Assist with project management of the implementation of IT solutions
- Develop and deliver training programs to improve staff usage of existing and new technology platforms (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, video conferencing platforms, etc.)
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT platforms and systems. For example, “Quick Reference Guides” for common technology tasks or conference room equipment
- Lead technology onboarding for new MJFF staff
- Be the technical team captain for the MJFF Intranet (SharePoint)
- Assist with IT helpdesk services in coordination with other team members (shared responsibility)
- Promote an understanding of IT roles, processes, and activities to business units, and act as lead marketer and communicator of IT services and capabilities
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in IT and business work
- Demonstrated expertise in user support and developing innovative IT solutions to support strategic business objectives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Experienced presenter, strong communications skills using PowerPoint
- Experience with project management, including familiarity with agile methodologies
- Solid understanding of current and planned architecture, platforms, and solutions
- Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
- Windows 10/Windows Server
- Virtualization (VMWare vSphere)
- A/V equipment setup
- Help desk ticketing system
- Strong working knowledge of common IT practices and policies

We instead start our fundraising from zero each year and seek to deploy funds raised as quickly and wisely as possible. MJFF raises over $100 million annually. Today, the Foundation’s staff comprises approximately 150 full-time employees.
The Administration Department includes Finance, Strategy, Information Technology, and Facilities.
