At its annual meeting in Pittsburgh in October, the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) announced The Michael J. Fox Foundation as the recipient of the 2025 RAPS Patient-Centered Health Award. This award recognizes groups that have significantly impacted advancing patient-centered policy to improve patients' lives globally.

"The Foundation's commitment to patient-centered health care is extremely valuable, putting patients at the center, pushing for accountability in research and using capital to take smart risks that others could not. That model has reshaped the Parkinson’s field and continues delivering impact at scale," said RAPS leadership in announcing the award.

Regulatory affairs professionals ensure that products comply with all relevant laws, regulations and standards in the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology industries. They act as a liaison between their organization and regulatory agencies like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. People in this role manage drug or device approval submissions, review marketing and advertising materials and maintain compliance and quality records.
