Parkinson's advocates William Clinch and Kevin Kwok visit with members of Congress to share their stories during the 2019 Parkinson's Policy Forum.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Parkinson’s advocates nationwide are rallying together to call on Congress and state lawmakers to invest in science and accelerate the path to transformative Parkinson’s treatments and cures.

Hundreds of advocates are gathering in the nation’s capital for meetings with Congress, while thousands more are joining our advocacy through the virtual component: the 2025 Parkinson's National Day of Action.

Led by the Unified Parkinson’s Advocacy Council, this Day of Action takes place right here — online — so you can participate from wherever you are. It only takes a minute and every action you take gets us closer to a future free from Parkinson’s disease.

How Can I Participate?

Joining the Day of Action is simple, and it only takes a few minutes. Use our links below to access editable email templates that are sent directly to your federal and state lawmakers:

  • Urge Congress to protect and expand federal funding for Parkinson’s and brain disease research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Ask your state lawmakers to prioritize Parkinson’s policies in your state as they prepare for the 2026 legislative session.

We’ve drafted these email templates to help make it easier for you to contact your officials, but you know your story best. Don’t forget to add your own personal touch before you send your emails!

Why Does My Advocacy Matter?

An estimated 1 million Americans live with Parkinson’s, the world’s fastest-growing neurological disease. And millions more — care partners, friends and family members — are touched by the disease.

There has never been a better time for federal and state governments to prioritize a Parkinson’s cure — today, we have the strongest pipeline of Parkinson’s therapies in history. In the last decade alone, 20 new drugs have been approved. That’s a 200 percent increase compared to 25 years ago. Government investment is essential to keep this momentum going.

And guess what? We know that advocacy works. Just look at what we’ve already accomplished together on the state level in 2025 alone.

No one understands Parkinson’s disease better than those who live with it every day. This Parkinson’s National Day of Action is a great opportunity to share your story with your elected officials and help them understand what matters most to you.
