David S. Park, PhD

Dr. Park and his team are focused on understanding the mechanisms of neurodegeneration and dysfunction, particularly in the context of Parkinson’s disease.  Dr. Park received his PhD from Rutgers University with Dr. Ron Poretz. He studied under Dr. Lloyd Greene at Columbia University during his post-doctoral training period. He established his current laboratory at the University of Ottawa in 1998. He is currently Full Professor in the Department of Cellular Molecular Medicine and is the Assistant Dean of Research in the faculty of Medicine. He is on a number of scientific boards including for the Parkinson’s Society Canada and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He has also been on numerous editorial boards including for The Journal of Biochemistry and Journal of Neurochemistry.
