Katrina L. Paumier, PhD

As a senior scientist at the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Katrina Paumier, PhD, helps coordinate efforts and monitors and facilitates the day-to-day progress toward core goals of clinical trials from the Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer’s Network (DIAN). She also assists with staff supervision, fiscal management and grant administration. Dr. Paumier serves as primary liaison between DIAN observational and therapeutic projects and university administrative and fiscal offices, as well as outside agencies. Additional responsibilities include arranging translation of DIAN materials, organizing external advisory committee visits, processing DIAN resource requests, and assisting with data analysis and manuscripts/presentations. Dr. Paumier is also actively involved in research activities related to amyloid-beta kinetics as they relate to disease progression, protective factors against Alzheimer's disease and the development of a diagnostic blood test.

Dr. Paumier received her undergraduate training in psychology at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and her PhD in neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati. She then completed her postdoctoral training in the laboratories of Dr. John Dunlop and Dr. Warren Hirst at Pfizer Inc, where she focused on autophagy enhancers for Parkinson’s disease. She was previously an assistant professor on the neuroscience faculty at Michigan State University.
