I am Chief of the Movement Disorders Section and Associate Professor of Neurology and Radiology at WashU Medicine in St. Louis. I am a board-certified and fellowship trained movement disorders neurologist with an active clinical practice, managing patients with Parkinson disease (PD) and other movement disorders. I am principal investigator in a research laboratory applying advanced neuroimaging methods to decipher complex pathophysiological mechanisms and treatment related clinical outcomes. My scientific and clinical passion is rooted in a desire to improve quality of life for patients afflicted by disabling movement disorders, with a major focus on movement disorders including PD. As PI or co-investigator on several NIH and foundation grants including MJFF, I have laid the groundwork for a translational research program that uses advanced multimodal imaging methods, including precision functional mapping resting-state MRI, to increase understanding of the pathophysiology of movement disorders.
