Julius W. Hobson Jr.

Julius W. Hobson, Jr. has more than 40 years of experience in public policy, working both inside and outside of government.

Currently, he serves as a senior policy advisor at Polsinelli. He is also an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University, where, since 1994, he has taught Lobbying, Advanced Strategy Lobbying, Fundamentals of Political Management, Electoral and Legislative Processes and Legislative Writing and Research.

Julius previously served over 13 years as a lobbyist and director of congressional affairs at the American Medical Association (AMA). Prior to joining the AMA, he served on the staff of Sen. Charles Robb (D-V.A.) where he was responsible for budget, financial services, taxes and economic issues. Julius previously served as congressional and executive branch liaison for the District of Columbia government. He was chief of staff to a member of Congress and staff director of a House subcommittee. He also handled congressional and federal affairs for Howard University.

Julius previously served as a member, vice chairman and chairman of the Board of Directors for the District of Columbia Health and Hospitals Public Benefit Corporation. He also served a four-year term as an elected member of the D.C. Board of Education.
