2016 Parkinson's Disease Education Consortium
Patient and caregiver education and engagement leads to better health outcomes for the individual and the collective, through specialist care, use of new treatments and participation in clinical research. In 2016 we launched our Parkinson's Disease Education Consortium with select industry partners to offer a robust set of educational assets including "Stages of Disease" toolkit, Third Thursdays webinar and podcast series, "Ask the MD" video and blog Series, Research Roundtable events, and MJFF website content.
While the generous support of our consortium members makes our educational programs possible, their donations do not influence MJFF content, perspective or panelist selection.
Thank you to our 2016 Parkinson's Disease Education Consortium members:
Steering Committee Members:
Thank you to our 2015 sponsors:
Thanks to a generous contribution from Acorda Therapeutics Inc., MJFF launched the "Ask the MD" video and blog series in 2015 in which on-staff movement disorders specialist Rachel Dolhun, MD, answers PD-related questions from our community.
In partnership with Cynapsus Therapeutics Inc., MJFF produced a "Burden of OFF" webinar for physicians and clinicians to increase education about the patient experience of OFF time with Parkinson's medications.
In April 2015, Prothena Biosciences Inc. and MJFF launched a collaborate toward discovery of alpha-synculein biomarkers. Prothena has also generously provided support to various MJFF educational programs, including Fox Trial Finder Ambassadors.
