Ioannis Ugo Isaias, MD, PhD

Ioannis U. Isaias, MD, PhD, neurologist and physiologist is leading the neuroimaging research group of the University Hospital of Würzburg. He received his MD from the University of Pavia (Italy) in 2004 and later also at the University of Leipzig (Germany). During his residency training in neurology at the University of Milano Bicocca (Italy), Dr. Isaias pursued fellowship training in movement disorders at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York, USA) and at the Institute for Parkinson's disease and Movement Disorders in Milan (Italy). In 2013, he completed a PhD training in human physiology at the University of Milano (Italy). Dr. Isaias is internationally recognized for his work combining functional imaging methods with biomechanical and neurophysiological analysis to characterize pathophysiological abnormalities in movement disorders.
