Upcoming Hot Topics Webinar: Cognitive Impairment and Parkinson’s Disease

Cognitive impairment is a troublesome reality for many people living with Parkinson's disease (PD). Symptoms can range from slowness of thinking or difficulty organizing and sequencing one's thoughts, to memory loss, to the eventual onset of dementia.

Even more troubling is that there are few treatment options for people suffering from these symptoms.

On Wednesday, October 17 at 12pm EST, The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) will address cognitive dysfunction in PD, as well as current efforts in the field to speed new treatments to market, in the latest Hot Topics webinar.

We invite you to register to participate!

The webinar will:

  • Provide an introduction to cognitive impairment in PD
  • Discuss how the field is tackling new treatments
  • Explain what people with PD can do today, both for themselves and to help drive forward research
  • Answer participants' questions live

Presenting are David Burn, MD, of the Institute on Ageing and Health at Newcastle University, and Fox Foundation Associate Director of Research Programs Jamie Eberling, PhD.

You can learn more ahead of next Tuesday's webinar by checking out MJFF resources online.  Read about an exciting partnership with pharmaceutical company Sanofi to develop a cognition-targeted drug, one family’s journey with Parkinson’s and dementia, and research suggesting a link between gait and cognitive decline.
