Professor at Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam Neuroscience

Location: Amsterdam Netherlands

Bert Windhorst was trained as a medicinal chemist and currently holds the chair of radiopharmaceutical chemistry at the department of radiology and nuclear medicine at Amsterdam UMC. His research is embedded within Amsterdam Neuroscience research institute and is focused on radionuclide production, radiochemistry methods, design and evaluation of radiopharmaceuticals and translation towards clinical research. He has established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production of radiotracers at his institute to facilitate clinical research. Several new PET radiotracers have been developed from preclinical towards clinical research under his supervision and in close collaboration with clinical researchers of Amsterdam UMC, including [11G]MOM, [18F]PK200 and [11C]SMW139.
